Tyrala Consulting LLC was founded by Amanda Kohler, Ph.D., with the goal of making protein engineering more accessible to the industry with a focus on actionable results. Amanda has 18 years of experience working on a diverse set of proteins and applications, from biofuel production through to cancer therapeutics. She’s a creative problem solver to the core with an innate passion for building new technology. What sets Amanda apart is her unwavering love of proteins and her deep understanding of structure and function from her training as a structural biologist. She knows full well that each protein has a personality of its own, and she makes it a priority to meet each protein where it is, to understand its intricacies, and redesign it to bring it to the next level. Amanda earned her Ph.D. at Rockefeller University and held scientist positions at Plexxikon Inc. and CytomX Therapeutics, and most recently was the Associate Director of Protein Engineering at Earli Inc.
